Two KS Bounty Hunters Arrested After High-Speed Chase

After a high-speed chase through Wichita, Kansas where speeds at times exceeded 100 mph, two bounty hunters were arrested. One bounty hunter was charged with aggravated kidnapping and carrying an unconcealed weapon while the other was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

Virginia bail agents are facing frustrating circumstances when they try to bail someone out of jails run by the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority. As of four months ago, the Southwest Virigina Regional Jail Authority has enacted a strict no-release policy that includes the name of the prisoner, his or her charges, and the bond amount.

TN Bail Agent Tasered, Still Recovers Skip

Michael Farrar, a Tennessee bail agent, was shot with his own taser at close range while trying to apprehend a fugitive on March 25. Farrar had been pursuing Bethany Brashears after she walked away from a rehabilitation center. By leaving the rehabilitation center Brashears was in violation of a bond Farrar had written for her.

NC Woman Pays Bail Agent with Fake Money

A North Carolina woman was arrested on April 2 after attempting to pay a bail agent in counterfeit $100 bills. Not an April Fool’s Day joke, Karen Lawson Garrett was charged with one count of obtaining property by false pretense and one count of misdemeanor passing an unauthorized substitute for cash.
