Ten Tax Tips for Bail Agents Before 2009 |

With the year rapidly coming to a close, now is the time to start planning for end-of-the-year tax preparations for your business. Go ahead and spend money on your business now for things you’ll need next year so you won’t have to pay a giant tax bill in April. Remember, while we pay taxes, we’re not tax professionals. Also, state and local tax laws are different depending on where you live. Make sure you consult with your tax professional before the end of the year to make sure you’re not overlooking any deductions, or trying to deduct things that the IRS finds suspicious. You might not want to pay more taxes, but you definitely don't want to face an audit.

Bondsmen Track Down Suspect |

NASHVILLE, TN - Quick-thinking bondsmen armed with a stun gun quickly found and captured Nicholas Short, a man accused of a fatal shooting. The bondsmen were working for the U.S. Fugitive Apprehension Service on an unrelated case when they saw Tyrone Davis shot in a parking lot. They pursued the suspect on foot and shot him with a stun gun to subdue him. Short has been charged with criminal homicide.

Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler: Fugitive and Bounty Hunter? |

LOS ANGELES, CA - Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler are talking with Columbia Motion Pictures about starring in a film about a bounty hunter. The script, written by Sarah Thorp, is about a bounty hunter (Butler) hired to find his wife (Aniston) after she jumps bail. Andy Tennant, director of "Hitch", is rumored to be directing this comedy.

A New Type of Bounty Hunter |

HAU'ULA, HI - In an attempt to sell their two Hawaiian homes, Linda Harris and her husband are offering a $100,000 bounty to the person that finds a buyer for them. Similar to a fugitive recovery agent being paid a fee after they return a skip, the person who finds a seller for their property will be paid $100,000 after the sale has been closed on the property. In Hawaii, it is legal to pay one bounty a year for real estate.

Dying Bondsman Released from California Jail |

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Joaquin Cruz, the California bail agent accused of holding clients hostage and cheating other clients out of property, has been released on bail. Cruz's bail was set at $75,000. Cruz's doctor, Dr. Ravi Patel, has said that Cruz has less than six months to live.
