HI Insurance Commissioner Revokes Bail Bondsman's License

Monica Joyce Pacheco, a bail agent on the Big Island of Hawai`i, has been issued a cease and desist order from J.P. Schmidt, Hawai`i's Insurance Commissioner after allegedly withholding premium payments and cash collateral for her own use.

Pacheco had been operating an unlicensed and unregistered bail agency.

Schmidt encourages those who feel they are not being treated in the proper manner by a Hawaiian bail agent to contact the Investigations Branch of the Hawai`i Insurance Division.
