Shreveport Woman Tries to Escape From Bail Bondsmen
A Shreveport area woman jumped from a moving car in order to escape a bail bondsman. Although injured, she spent a brief period of time in the hospital before moving to jail. The bond agreement for 21-year-old Paige Cronford was broken and Pleasant Bail Bondsmen were re-arresting her when the woman jumped from the car in order to escape. She suffered a cut on her leg and was treated at LSU Medical Center. When released, Andy Pleasant took the woman to Bossier Parish Correctional Center.
Bail Agent's Association Donates Money Counting Machine
San Mateo Bail Agent's Association has donated a high-speed currency counting machine to the Redwood City's busy Maguire Correctional Facility. The facility is a busy one, averaging about 50 bookings daily, a process that involves searching, fingerprinting, storing personal property and providing any needed services to the inmate. Additional services such as account, bail processing and family visits must also be taken into account and the new machine is expected to help staff immensely.
Hawaii Lawmakers Officially Support Duane Dog Chapman
Representative Gene Ward introduced House Resolution 50 in Hawaii’s House of Representatives after reportedly receiving more than 1,000 letters, 98-percent supporting TV star and bounty hunter "Dog" Duane Chapman. Chapman currently faces extradition to Mexico after capturing rapist Andrew Luster. More than 80 people showed up for the House of Representatives hearing. The committee voted for the resolution was unanimous. The House Judiciary Committee will hear testimony, vote on the resolution, and forward their views to the Mexican government.
Duane Dog Chapman is Coming to Edmonton
Bounty hunter and TV star Chapman is one of several celebrities who will be arriving in Edmonton over the next four weeks to take part in a school's speaker series. The NAIT Students Association sponsoring the series hopes that Chapman can address crime, a concern in Edmonton. Tickets to see the celebrity will cost $20. Chapman will be presenting on the evening of April 12.
Duane "Dog" Chapman Faces Personal Problem
A traffic accident on Big Island this week injured Duane "Dog" Chapman’s nephew, leaving the 24-year old in critical condition. Justin Derago Bihag apparently lost control of his car and crashed into a tree. A statement from bounty hunter Chapman was made this week to the effect that his nephew woke from his coma and is expected to live.
