Bondsman Slain |
RICHMOND, VA - Bail bondsman James W. Woolfolk III worked in the restaurant business and the construction industry before launching a bail-bonding business in February 2007. By all accounts, Woolfolk loved his job and was great at it. On Thursday, his job took him to a house in South Richmond in search of a man who was wanted for failing to appear in court to face drug and other charges. When Richmond police arrived on the scene they found Woolfolk shot to death. Carr surrendered to authorities several hours later and will appear in Richmond General District Court on a murder charge.

Investigator: It's No 'Dog' Show for Real-Life Bail Agents |
BEVERLY, MA - Real bail-recovery agents don't use Dog the Bounty Hunter, tactics, says a New Hampshire private investigator. PI Frank Abramovitz is furious about a recent case in Hampton, NH, in which three alleged "agents" were charged with handcuffing a woman and interrogating her at gunpoint. According to Abramovitz, a private investigator and former Massachusetts police officer, bail recovery agents in New Hampshire work through local police departments to recapture those who've jumped bail. They never brandish a badge, never handcuff witnesses and never point guns at witnesses' heads.
