FONTANA, CA - Freddie Martinez is a Vietnam veteran and a bail bondsman. Recently, Martinez was honored as 62nd Assembly District Veteran of the Year. Martinez worked as a state corrections officer and Redlands police officer before becoming a bail bond agent. In addition, Martinez widely supports local programs that help the homeless, youth and veterans. Many local organizations have profited from his generosity, including the Jerry Pettis Veterans Hospital, the San Bernardino Mission and Mary's Table.

Almost One Million In Unclaimed Bail Bond Cash In Texas County |

EL PASO, TX - County Clerk Delia Briones at the El Paso County Office announced that her office found that roughly $800,000 was never returned to citizens after they completed their court orders throughout the last nine years. Briones says that people may be unaware that the money can be returned after they post bond. The office has begun sending out letters to those who qualify for a refund. Any money that remains unclaimed will be granted to the state.

Bondsman Convicted in Murder-for-Hire Case |

ST. LOUIS, MO – Recently, AboutBail.com reported on the strange case of Glen Thomas Dotson, accused of wanting another bondsman dead. Last week, he was convicted of charges from a 2005 murder-for-hire plot. Dotson allegedly provided Virgil Lee Jackson, another bondsman, with a revolver that was to be used in the murder scheme. Jackson and Dotson plotted to kill another bondsman, who they saw as competition. Jackson is serving a ten-year sentence and now Dotson has been convicted of one felony count of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and one felony count of conspiracy to provide a firearm to a convicted felon. He also faces a maximum penalty of ten years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 per count. He is expected to be sentenced in August.

Central Bail Bond Cars in Texas |

TEXOMA, TX – Texoma residents were wondering about the yellow Central Bail Bonds cars that are parked on the city’s street corners. Texas is trying to get the cars removed. The trouble is that the cars are fully licensed and legal to drive on the streets. They are restored vintage cars that are a trademark and advertising opportunity for Central Bail Bonds. Kenneth Knowles owns Central Bail Bonds and the approximately 15 cars. Knowles' attorney is contesting the removal request.
