This week, the AboutBail.com staff were all talking about Duane "Dog" Chapman - his legal woes, his new show, and his supporters. We also couldn't help being reminded this week about the dangers - and temptations - that face bail professionals. Our top news story picks for the week are:

Fugitives Aren't Always the Biggest Danger to Bounty Hunters
An early-morning car crash in south Greeley on March 29 seriously injured a bounty hunter. Shawn Marsh of Denver was driving the vehicle when it crashed. He was identified by police as a bounty hunter. Marsh is currently in ICU. Two passengers in the car were bond enforcement officers while two other passengers were apparently in the car to learn about bounty hunting.

Another State Joins Pro-Dog Stance?
For some time now, Hawaii has officially supported bounty hunter and TV actor Duane "Dog" Chapman in his fight to avoid extradition to Mexico. Now, it appears that Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) is joining Dog's supporters. Tancredo contacted Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice about the Dog case, suggesting that the extradition may not be legal.

The Dog Back on TV
In other Dog news, Duane "Dog" Chapman will be back on television soon. Despite ongoing legal problems stemming from Chapman's 2003 arrest of serial rapist Andrew Luster in Mexico, a new season of Chapman's show is set to be aired. In about two weeks, the fourth season of the popular 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' show will begin airing on A&E.

Not All Bail Agents Are Our Heroes
A Washington County man who once worked as a bail agent has been sentenced to two years for taking bribes. Frank Carpellotti was charged in a case involving Marion Bonani. Bonani's mother offered Carpellotti $500 to reduce Bonani's bail after Bonani was arrested in 2005. In court, Carpellotti pleaded guilty to charges of bribery, criminal conspiracy, theft, oppression and obstruction of the administration of law.

A New Marketing Resource for Bail Agents?
Sue Cravens, a Sanford bail agent, advertises in JAIL. JAIL is the brainchild of Devin James. The concept is simple: a newspaper featuring page after page of mug shots. James claims that many people like to read his newspaper because it offers a glimpse into a world that fascinates America. The paper seems to be selling out of most stores where it is featured. Bail agents - including Cravens - even think the paper may help authorities capture some suspects, by shining the light on who has jumped bail.

Nevada Bounty Hunter Under Arrest
Nevada bounty hunter Rob Suckoll is charged with three felonies stemming from an incident at the Green Door club on Jan. 25. On that day, Suckoll entered the club to make an arrest. He shot and seriously injured a maintenance man in the process. Suckoll is charged with one count of burglary while in possession of a firearm, one count of battery with the use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, and with reckless disregard of persons or property.
