Fake Bondsman Should Face Accusers

RIDGELAND, SC -- Henry Roldan is accused of posing as a bondsman and has been charged with obtaining goods under false pretenses. Accusers claim that Roldan claimed to be a bondsman and so defrauded them out of money based on the pretense. Circuit Judge Carmen Mullen recently decided that Roldan has a right to face the two accusers and to know their names. The names in the police report were redacted, which Roldan’s lawyer claims violates Sixth Amendment rights. The court was heard that the names were redacted so that Roldan would not harass or intimidate the accusers.
