celebrity bail bondsAt AboutBail.com, we keep up with the latest news about bail bonds. In Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York and New Orleans, celebrities throughout the county have been finding themselves behind bars in 2011. Several of these stars, like Lindsay Lohan and Nicolas Cage, have a history of problems with the law.  Their issues range from unpaid taxes, to drunk driving to battery or assault. We have compiled a list of the top celebrity bailees of 2011.

Christina Aguilera
The famous pop singer and co-host of the hit television show “The Voice” was detained in March of 2011 in Los Angeles after her boyfriend was arrested for driving under the influence. Ms. Aguilera was the passenger of the vehicle when the couple was pulled over and arrested. She was determined to be under the influence and she was taken into custody to “ensure her safety.” Aguilera was released later that morning after passing a sobriety test, and her boyfriend’s bail was set at $5,000.

Juvenile
New Orleans rapper Juvenile is probably best known for his Billboard Top 100 hits “Back That Thang Up” and “Slow Motion.” The rapper has faced legal problems in the past, mainly drug related charges. Earlier this year, he was arrested in Louisiana for speeding and simple possession of marijuana. He was also driving with a suspended license. He was eventually released from custody after his $750 bond was paid.

Lindsay Lohan
It shouldn’t come as any surprise to celebrity gossip-heads that Lindsay Lohan was arrested and bailed out of jail again in 2011. On April 22, 2011, Lohan was bailed out of jail in Los Angeles after being sentenced to 120 days behind bars for a 2007 probation violation. The troubled star has had her fair share of legal problems in the past. This time, her bond was set at $75,000. She was bailed out later that evening. She is currently on probation from a 2007 cocaine possession and drunk driving charge.

Rick Springfield
80s pop singer Rick Springfield was arrested in Malibu earlier this year on suspicion of driving under the influence. Springfield is probably best known for his 1980s hit single “Jessie’s Girl.” The 61-year-old former rocker was stopped after he was spotted speeding in his Corvette in Malibu. Police officers soon realized that he was possibly under the influence after smelling alcohol coming from the singer’s car. Springfield was arrested after failing sobriety tests. He was bailed out around 2:00 AM after his $5,000 bond was posted.

Nicolas Cage
Among the most interesting celebrity bailees of 2011, actor Nicolas Cage takes the cake. Cage was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace and domestic abuse in New Orleans in April of 2011. The actor was filming a movie in the area and was taken in to custody after an argument with his wife Alice Kim. To make the story even more interesting, his bail of $11,000.00 was posted by reality television star Dog the Bounty Hunter himself, Duane Chapman. Chapman, a professional bail bondsman, helped the eccentric actor, noting, “This is what I do for a living.”
