Pre-Trial Program Gets Law Enforcement Support

SARASOTA, FL -- A bill was introduced in the Florida House of Representatives last year to curb the Pretrial Release Program present in 28 counties in Florida. The program allows for those accused of some crimes to be released without private bail. Recently, a group of law enforcement officers, commissioners, and other professionals met at Lakewood Ranch Town Hall to express their support of the Pretrial Release Program and to express their objection to the bill. No bondsman was present at the meeting to express the views of the bail bond industry.
