Bondsmen Search for Electronic Monitoring Escapee

HORRY COUNTY, SC -- While experts say that it happens rarely, a man has removed his electronic monitoring device. The whereabouts of Kashief Spain are unknown and police are still searching for him. The bondsmen who bailed Spain out are also looking for him. Spain was arrested on drug and weapons charges. According to Horry County Sheriff's Office authorities, only about one or two defendants a year are able to remove their electronic monitoring device and violate their bail terms by fleeing. In the county, up to 60 defendants are using electronic monitoring devices at any one time.
